Earlier this year, when the Indian budget was announced, there was some talk about India’s growth trajectory towards becoming a $5 Trillion economy. An article that I wrote then was finally published in Business World magazine. The bottleneck for growth and innovation, especially in data science, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, is a lack of talent. In the field of data science especially, there is a shortage of people with the right mindsets and skillsets. We need to think creatively beyond just waiting for universities and colleges to train more data scientists.
